If you have been following my articles on wedding flowers, you know how much I love to save money and still have the most glamorous flowers available. Yes, everyone should be able to have bouquets fit for a Queen and I will show you how.

You do have several choices when it comes to flower sources. One is your local florist. There you will get all of the help and advice you need for your wedding flowers, but if cost is a concern, it will help if you understand what they are.

A florist has many overhead costs that the customer doesn't consider. Some of the major costs are utility bills, rent, employee salaries/benefits, delivery vehicles, insurance, gas, products, and advertising to name a few.

A florist has to pay for employees to deliver and set up your wedding flowers. They have to make sure everything is in place, set up arrangements on tables and in the church. Many brides opt to have the florist remove the flowers after the wedding so they have to return, clean up and then dispose of the left over arrangements.

So good business sense dictates some of these costs have to be factored in the service charges just as with any other business. That means you will pay for the extra services you get which is anything above the actual flowers.

Another alternative is to order a bridal box from a wholesaler such as Costco. They have bridal bouquets, brides maid, and corsages already made and will deliver right to your door. Colors and styles are limited, but you can save a small fortune.

Costco also has great prices on individual flowers so you are not limited to their wedding designs. So ll another way to save is to do it yourself. Depending on your situation, this can be an amazing experience if you know what to do and when. The key is doing your research, getting a group of friends together (Moms are great for this) and having a flower party prior to the wedding.

A DIY wedding has the potential to create a wedding fit for a Queen. So if you are looking for a way to make that happen on a small budget there IS a way!

I am amazed at the waste that takes place in the clean up process. The flower arrangements are expensive. Very fresh flowers are used in the arrangements and still have a lot of time left to be enjoyed. With a little planning, we can help eliminate a lot of waste and get the most from our money. We can also share with others in a meaningful way, and help recycle our resources.

If you are on a really tight budget, and you can find a family member or friend who has a lovely garden you will be able to create a fabulous wedding for next to nothing.

Simple wedding designs can probably be created with a little practice and a few friends, but if you have decided on something more elaborate there is still another way to have flower designs fit for a Queen!

A little known key to saving huge amounts and still having a glam wedding is to hire a floral designer who is no longer employed by a florist. There are many designers out there who still love the art and would be delighted to do a wedding now and then.

They can also be hired to give a group of your friends a few design classes well before the wedding. This is an excellent way to have the help you need and still do a huge wedding on a shoe string!

So how do you find those magical people? Run an ad and ask for a private floral designer who is available to help with a single event. During the interview, be sure they are not competing with an existing employer and ask to see their work. Get references and enjoy!

Saving mega bucks on wedding flowers might just help you have the honeymoon you never thought possible.

With a few well thought out plans you can have the wedding bouquets and honeymoon fit for a Queen!
